Ailsa is a very versatile and experienced Producer/Director and Edit Producer having worked in the production industry since 2003. Cutting her teeth in News before finding a home in Factual, she now works mainly on History, Arts & Science documentaries.
She has researched, developed, written, produced and directed a wide range of factual programming for UK, US and European broadcasters & SVODs, and taken many projects through
the edit. These include: the landmark travel documentary Long Way Round, the enlightening Bletchley Park story Colossus: Creating a Giant, the stunning Chinese Arts/History/Architecture doc Masterpieces: The Emperor's Secret Garden, the unprecedented history of HSBC
150 Years, and the thrilling Chris Tarrant: Extreme Railway Journeys.
Ailsa has also written and cut True Crime stories for Detectives: My Killer Case, Body Cam and
Cold Case Killers; produced & directed for the wartime History series, Greatest Events of WWII in Colour, and edit produced a complex episode of Ancient China From Above, an exciting new GFX-rich Archaeology/History series.
Most recently, Ailsa has produced, directed and edit produced for the popular Archaeology/Engineering series Unearthed and cut several episodes of a new Forensic Science/Archaeology/History series
Ancient Unexplained Files.
Ailsa is an adaptable and capable PD/EP who will happily turn her skills and experience to any new subject, while also offering specialisms in History, Science, True Crime, China, Anthropology, Engineering, Archaeology, Heritage, Travel & Adventure and Architecture.
She loves a bad pun, is handy with a pair of chopsticks and co-holds a Guinness World Record.
